Alex Rand is a multidisciplinary curator and creative producer working across festivals, major events, public art, immersive experiences, and the performing arts.

He is currently the Creative Producer, Major Projects at The Bentway, a cultural organization that activates innovative public spaces beneath the elevated Gardiner Expressway in downtown Toronto, where he curates, commissions, and produces large-scale public art and immersive events year-round.

From 2017 – 2022, Alex was the Producer, Artistic Programs at the Luminato Festival, where he curated and produced a variety of multidisciplinary projects across the city, working with international and local artists, community organizers, and thought leaders.

In 2017, he was an Artistic Director of An Honest Farewell, the multidisciplinary festival, party, and community platform celebrating the legacy of Honest Ed’s, an infamous department store in downtown Toronto. From 2010 – 2016, Alex was based in London, UK, where he had the opportunity to work as both an artist and arts manager with organizations such as the Barbican Centre and National Theatre, among others.

Additionally, he currently sits on the Board of Directors of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, the world’s largest and longest-running queer theatre.

Alex Rand is available for freelance curatorial and creative producing opportunities, and holds both Canadian and UK citizenship.
